Formation

45 x 25 cm 3D pastillage piece, a circular disk formation of increasing and decreasing heights and circles. Finished with edible metallic dusting effects.

The inspiration for Formation came from " Hol en bol, concave and convex" by the artist M.C.Escher. Lorraine really liked his work on the steps, especially when they went up side down. This gave her the inspiration to do Formation, which included variations on the step theme made from circles.

Oceans Apart

3D wall hanging in pastillage, royal icing 45 x 45 x 8 cm

Made from cascading platforms of pastillage, this piece is finished with textured royal icing in shades of blues, purples, oranges and yellows. "The inspiration came from St Lucia, when we were on our honeymoon.  Every morning as we pulled back the curtains there was a different sun lit sea scene. Each evening was a wonderful sunset, from which I drew many pastel drawings. So I decided to pull them all together in this piece."
